Q1 — What does a face primer do?

A face primer is the step that goes between skincare and makeup. It smooths the surface of the skin so foundation, tinted moisturiser or concealer applies more evenly and wears for longer. Bloom's Protect + Perfect Primer also adds broad-spectrum SPF 20 — so it preps the skin and adds a layer of daily sun protection in the same step.

Yes. Bloom's Protect + Perfect Primer is designed to be worn on its own — a fine layer evens the look of the skin, hydrates and adds SPF 20 sun protection for a flawless looking complexion. It's a lightweight everyday option for days you don't want to wear foundation.

Q3 — How do you apply face primer?

Apply primer to clean, moisturised skin before makeup. Take a fine layer onto the fingertips, then press and gently smooth across the face — focus on the centre of the face (forehead, nose, cheeks, chin) and blend outward to the hairline and jaw. Let it settle for thirty seconds before foundation goes on so the two textures don't lift each other.

Q4 — Does primer go on before or after moisturiser?

After moisturiser, before foundation. Moisturiser hydrates the skin; primer smooths the surface and (in Bloom's Protect + Perfect Primer) adds broad-spectrum SPF 20. Let your moisturiser absorb for about a minute, then layer the primer on top.

Q5 — Is the SPF 20 in this primer enough sun protection?

Protect + Perfect Primer is SPF 20 broad-spectrum — four organic UV filters paired with titanium dioxide cover both UVA and UVB for everyday wear. For prolonged time outdoors, at the beach, or while playing sport, layer it with a dedicated sunscreen and reapply as that product's label recommends.

Q6 — Is this primer suitable for mature skin?

Yes — the formula is suitable for all skin types and is particularly considerate of skin that prefers a lighter, hydrating texture over heavier silicone-led primers. It pairs three humectants (glycerin, butylene glycol, propanediol) with Vitamin E and Evodia Rutaecarpa botanical extract for a soft, radiance-supporting finish.
